An MPDU, or moderately priced dwelling unit, is a condo or townhome for sale through the county at a reduced sales price.
MDPUs can be new home sales or resales.
The county requires a certain portion of all newly constructed homes to be allotted for the program.
The units are awarded through a drawing system.
You must complete a home buying seminar class, MDPU class, and application interview to qualify.
Minimum and maximum income limits apply.
The units are sold to owner occupants only and may not be rented.
Control periods and resale prices apply.
Resale units are listed with a Realtor, and are a great way to bypass the drawing system.
